You know how people find themselves facing the end of an important personal relationship, and wondering how to manage custody of children or separate finances, and sometimes both? Charles helps people preparing for and experiencing the end of those relationships. Charles guides them through the legal process as well as making plans for the future so that they can strengthen family relationships and feel empowered embarking on their new life. Charles has personally experienced how several important women in his life chose to stay home and rear children, setting aside irreplaceable career experience to support their husbands and the family. While these choices are vital for the success of the family, the legal system does not adequately compensate for those sacrifices and other challenges created in divorce. The law defaults to an equal split of resources being just, but 50/50 isn’t always fair. There are so many other factors that need to be considered in order to reach an equitable outcome. That is why Charles aids his clients in developing lasting and meaningful solutions to their legal problems by partnering with other professionals who help with long-term financial goals and planning and building stronger families.

Charles graduated with honors from Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington. While there, he was a member of the Gonzaga Law Review editorial board and the Moot Court Council, all while caring for a young family and being engaged in his community. When not practicing law and managing the business, Charles enjoys spending time with his family, backpacking and camping, mountain biking, exploring rugged country on an ATV and fishing. Charles loves to sing, and occasionally gets together with some high school friends to blend voices in five-part acapella music.

EDUCATION AND JURISDICTIONS

Charles graduated for Gonzaga University School of Law in 2003 with his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in 2003. He was then admitted to the Utah Bar and has been practicing in Utah since.
