Ryan Nord’s practice focuses primarily on insurance, construction, and business law.

In his insurance coverage practice, Mr. Nord represents property owners pursing insurance coverage claims for property insurance claims either underpaid or denied by the property owner’s insurance company. Mr. Nord has previously worked on behalf of insurance companies representing companies and individuals against liability claims. Based on this experience, he has seen firsthand how the insurance industry works. He now uses that knowledge on behalf of policyholders throughout Utah.  He only represent the insureds suing insurance companies. Frequent claims include water losses, fire claims, weather damage such as hail or wind damage to roofs, and other types of insurance coverage issues. Having litigated hundreds of cases involving insurance issues, Ryan Nord and the team at Sage Law Partners are prepared to put our knowledge and experience to work for you.

Mr. Nord also frequently represents general contractors, sureties, subcontractors, owners, architects, and engineers. Ryan Nord’s construction practice includes construction litigation, negotiation and drafting of contract documents, mechanic’s and materialmen’s lien claims, OSHA defense, Fair Housing and ADA claims, performance and payment bond claims, bid protests, professional liability claims, and partnership disputes.

Mr. Nord began his construction practice while working at the premier construction law firm in Texas after graduating from the University of Texas school of Law. Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Nord worked in real estate development, which gives him a unique perspective on construction law issues.

Mr. Nord also maintains an active business law practice with an emphasis on establishment of entities, partnership disputes, and the real estate and travel industries.

Ryan Nord has been named in Utah Business Magazine’s Legal Elite for many years for construction law. The Legal Elite recognition is based on Utah Business Magazine’s survey of thousands of Utah attorneys and judges asking them to nominate lawyers they deemed the best in Utah and whose legal services they would recommend to others. Of the over 6,000 attorneys in the State of Utah, only about 15 attorneys are awarded this distinction each year. Mr. Nord has also been recognized over several years as a Super Lawyer in the intermountain states in the field of construction law, which is a peer-based recognition limited to the top 2% of attorneys in their respective fields.
